as-built SURVEY
What Is an As-Built Survey?
An As-Built survey is recorded data of the improvements’ location “as they are built” in the construction phase. These surveys help keep track of changes made to the original design in the field. Several improvements have to be made during construction, such as utilities, pavements, sewer pipes, drainages, and buildings. All of the constructional aspects can be located differently in the final form.
No one can predict unforeseeable circumstances that can have a huge impact on these constructional improvements. Professionals use As-built surveys to record the final location of the field changes in the form of drawings.
Simply put, an As-Built survey gives you a look at the property’s current state.

Are As-Built Surveys Important?
As-Built surveys are quite important during construction projects, whether public or government. It is essential to keep a record of the changed locations of all field improvements when they are being built. There is typically a short window open for recording such location changes in construction projects.
These surveys are particularly important in the case of the construction of drainage pipes. These pipes are usually constructed in a trench, which is then filled. An As-Built survey conducted before the trench is filled gives you the correct location of the pipe.
How Do We Conduct anAs-Built Survey?
At Will’s Services Group, we provide our clients with whatever they need. We provide a hard copy of our project plans with clearly highlighted changes in some cases. This will help you understand everything more quickly. On the other hand, we also provide a CAD file drawing with highlighted changes.
We discuss everything with our clients before starting the survey, so you’ll be aware of every detail until the end.
